About our Society
Gainsborough Musical Theatre Society was founded in 1911 under the name Gainsborough Amateur Operatic Society later changed to better reflect the society.
We perform a full-length musical theatre show to an almost professional standard every year in June with our most recent shows including “Little Shop of Horrors” and “Sister Act”. We also perform annual concerts consisting of musical theatre songs in autumn time at local churches.
We rehearse for our main musical theatre show on Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30pm-9:30pm at Gainsborough Methodist Church.
We rehearse for our concerts after our main show is finished for the year on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30pm-9:30pm at Gainsborough Methodist Church.
Our membership fee is £60 a year for existing members and £55 a year for new members. This can be paid in two separate instalments as long as the first instalment is paid before auditions.
We welcome members aged 14+ that have a passion for musical theatre to join our group so if that sounds like you, get in touch or come along to one of our rehearsals!
